KIST is currently recruiting for the positions listed below only. (Scroll down to view.)

  • A cover letter outlining experience related to the position and explaining the specific aspects of KIST that interest you.
  • A complete resume, including details of qualifications and relevant experience.
  • A one-page statement outlining your personal philosophy of education (for teaching positions only).
  • Contact details (e-mail preferred) for at least two recent professional references, including from most recent supervisors.
  • A recent photograph.
  • Personal details, including information on any dependents.
  • Details of visa status and expiry (if currently living in Japan).

Educational Division

      

Position

Certified Preschool Teacher*

Base K. International Preschool - Morishita Campus (located in Tokiwa, Koto-ku, Tokyo)
Curriculum Bilingual, pre-inquiry based
Grade/s P2 (2 year olds)
Period August 2017 - June 2018 (Possible renewal depending on appraised work performance and school needs)
Overview

- Plan and implement educational activities for students.

- Monitor the development of students.

- Monitor student welfare.

- Perform student supervisory duties and other general duties as requested.

Notes

- Bilingual skills in English and Japanese required.

Japanese nursery teacher certification (hoikushi) essential.

- University degree required.

- Candidates with appropriate working visas preferred; however, visa sponsorship available for foreign nationals (if suitably qualified). No tourist visas, please.

- Monthly salary based on prior experience.

- Reimbursement available for commuter expenses to a maximum of 40,000 yen per day.

- Health insurance and employent insurance available.

- Working hours 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, and a number of Saturdays during the year.

- This is a local hire position. Applicants must currently live in Japan.

Operational Division 

 

Position

School Nurse (Part-time)*

Base Nurse's Room (Main Office)
Period September 2017 - June 2018 (Possible annual renewal depending on appraised work performance and school needs)
Overview

- Provide health care services to students and staff.

- Provide basic first aid treatment to injured students and staff.

- Care for sick students who visit the nurse's room.

- Contact parents of students who become sick or injured at school.

- Accompany sick or injured students to medical clinics (Japanese required).

- Input student data and emergency contacts into the database. 

- Arrange the annual student health checks.

- Prepare documents on health matters.

- Perform other duties as requested.

Notes

- Qualification in nursing and/or pediatrics required.

- Communicative proficiency in English and Japanese.

- Prior experience working in public and/or school-based health care services (highly desirable)

- Must hold an appropriate working visa (foreign nationals only) (e.g. permanent resident, spouse or child of Japanese national, long-term resident). Visa sponsorship not available.

- Working hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with 45 minutes total break time (30 minutes for lunch and 15 minutes for afternoon break). Occasional overtime work.

- Initial hourly salary of 1,400 - 1,800 yen (commensurate with prior experience).

- Reimbursement for commuter expenses up to a maximum of 1,000 yen per day.

- Annual paid leave (as per Japanese labor law regulations).

- Health insurance and employment insurance available.

- Meals subsidy available.
