OPERATIONAL DIVISION

  • A cover letter outlining experience related to the position and explaining the specific aspects of KIST that interest you.
  • A complete resume, including details of qualifications and relevant experience.
  • A one-page statement outlining your personal philosophy of education (for teaching positions only).
  • Contact details (e-mail preferred) for at least two recent professional references, including from most recent supervisors.
  • A recent photograph.
  • Personal details, including information on any dependents.
  • Details of visa status and expiry (if currently living in Japan).

Positions marked with an asterisk (*) are local hire positions. Applications will only be accepted from persons currently living in Japan or who have already made firm arrangements to move to Japan. Relocation and housing allowances are not provided for local hire positions.

Educational Division

 

Position

Preschool Teacher*

Base K. International Preschool - Morishita Campus (located in Tokiwa, Koto-ku, Tokyo)
Curriculum Bilingual, pre-inquiry based
Grade/s P2 (2 year olds)
Period August 2018 - June 2019 (Possible renewal depending on appraised work performance and school needs)
Overview

- Plan and implement educational activities for students.

- Monitor the development of students.

- Monitor student welfare.

- Perform student supervisory duties and other general duties as requested.

Notes

- Native English speaker required. Additional skills in Japanese welcome but not required.

- University degree required.

- Experience working with infants essential.

- Candidates with appropriate working visas preferred; however, visa sponsorship available for foreign nationals (if suitably qualified). No tourist visas, please.

- Monthly salary based on prior experience.

- Reimbursement available for commuter expenses to a maximum of 40,000 yen per month.

- Health insurance and employent insurance available.

- Working hours 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, and a number of Saturdays during the year.

- This is a local hire position. Applicants must currently live in Japan.

Guidance Coordinator (University Guidance & Welfare)

Base K. International School Tokyo - Secondary School Divisions
Commencing August 2018
Curriculum School developed advisory curriculum
Grade/s coordinate Career/University Guidance and student care support 
Overview

- Provide emotional and social development support to students

- Work with homeroom teachers to design and coordinate delivery of advisory curriculum

- Develop career awareness that supports course planning, including managing the G9 Career experience program

- Lead further growth of existing university guidance support to attain student admissions to top ranked universities around the world, particularly for students wishing to enter Oxbridge/Ivy League schools

- Perform student supervisory duties and other general duties as defined in the role description.

Notes

- Related experience required, including a track record of past students attaining admission to Oxbridge/Ivy League schools. Please make reference in your cover letter as to which Ivy/Oxbridge schools your students have received offers from and when.

- University degree required, with teacher/counsellor certification preferred

- Native level English fluency required

- Japanese proficiency an asset

- Understanding of MYP/DP preferred

- Preference will be given to applications from experienced candidates living in Japan.

Overview

- With the classroom teacher, collaboratively plan and implement educational activities for kindergarten students.

- Monitor student welfare.

- Perform student supervisory duties and other general duties as defined in the role description.

Notes

- University degree required.

- Native level English fluency required.

- Related experience working with young children required.

- Understanding of PYP an asset.

- Candidates with appropriate working visas preferred; however, visa sponsorship available for foreign nationals (if suitably qualified). No tourist visas, please.

- Monthly salary based on prior experience.

- Reimbursement available for commuter expenses to a maximum of 25,000 yen per month.

- Health insurance and employent insurance available.

- Working hours 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, and a number of Saturdays during the year.

- This is a local hire position. Applicants must currently live in Japan.
