Before School English Support Program (K3 – G5)

Students with insufficient language skills for learning often encounter difficulties understanding what their teachers and friends are saying, as well as expressing their own ideas and feelings. This is a very stressful situation for a student to be in. This program is designed to support such student by focusing on basic language skills and understanding. Through this approach, we aim to help create an enjoyable and interesting learning environment that will allow students to actively learn at school.
This program is geared toward students that are struggling with English. We recommend that you take advantage of this program to build a strong foundation for your child’s language ability.

K3 - G1 Class Structure
Classes will be focused around grammar, phonics, and basic reading and writing strategies, as well as increasing English vocabulary through activities derived from the British Key Stage 1 curriculum.

Homework will be given once a week. Any work not completed in class will also be given as homework.

•    5 day a week class

For students who need substantial language support. This program is especially suited to families where English is not the main language spoken at home.

•    3 day a week class
For students who need frequent language support.

•    2 day a week class
For students who need occasional language support.

G2 – G5 Class Structure
Classes will be focused on grammar, academic writing strategies, reading comprehension and increasing English vocabulary through activities based on the British Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculums.
Students will also be taught how to extend their writing, how to structure their writing, and how to use more varied vocabulary.
Homework will be given 1-2 times per week. Any work not completed in class will also be given as homework.

For students who need substantial language support.

•    2 day a week class
