In K2 we are exploring countries around the world, and one of our recent focuses has been the United Kingdom. Children have been learning where the UK is on the world map and discovering some of the things it is known for such as the royal family, famous buildings and the tradition of afternoon tea. They enjoyed creating their own craft crowns and having fun with the story of the Loch Ness Monster by making cheerful monster crafts. As part of our cultural cooking experiences, the children also tried a classic British snack. They buttered and cut their own toast, added warm baked beans and tasted British tea with digestives. These activities give the children a hands-on and enjoyable introduction to life in the UK while building real life skills.
