Grade 2 students can earn a special class called Action Inquiry when they complete their weekly goals together. These goals include writing, math, and other unit related tasks being completed show responsibility and time management. If the goals aren’t finished, students use that time to catch up instead. Their published writing on the G2 hallway writing wall showcases a recently completed weekly goal, highlighting exceptional communication skills in Grade 2.
Even when some students need more time, we still hold Action Inquiry. One G2 classroom becomes a quiet space for finishing work, while others join the creative, collaborative activity. This is part of how we teach goal setting, making good choices, and using time wisely. We want students to feel proud of their effort and see how their actions lead to fun and meaningful experiences.
Each Action Inquiry class is different. Students might create crafting projects, explore movie unit connections, or create something new based on their interests or skills. This week, both Grade 2 classes teamed up to build amazing Kapla structures, showing creativity, teamwork, and focus. When students work hard for these moments through effort and skill, students take action with confidence and pride.
