As part of our Unit of Inquiry, How We Express Ourselves, the K3 students have been exploring the theme of celebrations. We began by celebrating ourselves! After reading Super Duper You by Sophy Henn, the children reflected on what makes each of us unique and special.
The inquiry then expanded to celebrations around the world, with a closer look at birthdays. Students shared their own traditions, noticing similarities and differences, and developing an appreciation for diverse ways of celebrating.
Through creative activities, show and tell, and discussions, the children practiced communication, literacy, math, and fine motor skills—all while having fun. What a joyful reminder that we are all, in our own ways, super duper us!
