Hello KIST Families! I hope this issue finds you well. As the holiday season approaches, our children are excited to celebrate their achievements from the past four months with their families. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our K1–K3 families for your continued support.
Firstly, thank you to those who joined us to clean the ECE playground on Monday mornings. We always have an enormous amount of fallen leaves, which the children love playing with and helping to gather. However, it is always a challenging task as the leaves never stop falling! This year, with your help—and with the support of our older students—we were able to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
I would also like to thank you for supporting our new activity this year. In place of the Reading Buddy sessions, we introduced a program called Mini Mates, which brings together children from K1, K2 and K3. Mini Mates offers a special time for our youngest learners to mingle, develop social awareness, help one another, and feel proud to be part of our school community.
We have six mixed-age groups, each including children from all three grade levels and supported by three teachers—one from each grade. While teachers rotate each session, the children remain in the same group to strengthen relationships and build confidence.
We hold Mini Mates on weeks when we do not have our Kindy Assembly. Our most recent session, held on December 12, was a Winter Celebration Day. Each child brought a small present from home to exchange within their group. We truly appreciate the support of our families—your involvement added a special touch to the event and made it even more meaningful for the children.
Wishing you all a wonderful and joyous holiday season.
Warm regards,
