Cardboard Sculpture Club (Secondary)

Continuing from last year, Art Club in general has continued to grow, fostering creativity and engagement in artmaking. This year, we expanded the club to also include a cardboard sculpture club, where students designed 3D forms by drawing templates, cutting, and joining cardboard pieces using spatial skills, and finally painting their sculptures to complete them.

Throughout the process, students faced challenges when their sculptures didn’t turn out as planned. However, they learned to overcome these obstacles through creative problem-solving and persistence.

Each student created unique works based entirely on their own ideas— such as towers, movable dragon heads, rooms, fish, lizards, interactable toys, wearable pieces, airplanes, miniature foods, roly-poly horses, and more! They enjoyed both independent and collaborative work, actively sharing their thoughts and giving positive feedback to one another. This supportive environment encouraged even greater creativity and a willingness to take risks without fear of failure.

It is truly exciting to display their amazing cardboard sculptures! Please take a moment to recognize their effort and creativity if you see their work. Ask them how they made it, what challenges they faced, and what inspired their designs!

I am genuinely proud to celebrate their creativity. The independent, problem-solving skills they developed through the artmaking will undoubtedly shine in other areas, helping them embrace mistakes as opportunities to discover new solutions.
