I am very honored to be selected as one of the winners in the “Future Sweets That Make Everyone on Earth Happy” Idea Contest. This contest invited participants to imagine and create new kinds of sweets that could bring joy to people around the world. Sweets that go beyond taste, combined with creativity, sustainability and encouragement. I am proud to share that my idea was exhibited in the Earth Mart sweets section in the Signature Pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

My submission, titled ‘WALLO’, is made up of 80% water, 20% jelly and 5% of the jelly is sweet fruit flavored. It features a unique, waterdrop waterdrop-like design made from sustainable, biodegradable ingredients. My sweets are not only healthy but also refreshing and designed to help people feel hydrated and uplifted.

The main reason I designed this sweet is because I learned that almost 500,000 people die due to dehydration and 90% of the recorded death is children under the age of five. This really shocked me; I wanted to create something that could help and motivate the young children to drink more water. This sweet is made to be both enjoyable and encourages people to stay hydrated while bringing a little bit of happiness. My goal was to design something that can help solve real world problems and make a positive contribution and impact.

I am extremely excited, honored and proud of myself to be selected as a winner and I am truly grateful for the opportunity. As a student, having my idea and creation in a large event like Expo 2025 feels both rewarding and meaningful. It has boosted my confidence and the power to reach and inspire others. This experience encourages me to keep learning, creating and helping others in need.

Visiting the exhibition site at Expo 2025 was an unforgettable and surreal experience. Seeing my own design, WALLO, displayed with the other unique and thoughtful creations that got selected as winners made me feel so proud and inspired. Watching visitors and workers interact with my work, hearing their feelings and comments and applauding me made me deeply moved. It reminded me of the original reason why I wanted to make this creation; to spread happiness and encouragement.

I would like to sincerely thank Dr. Yoshihara, Mr. Cowe, Mr. Rose, and all my teachers and support through this journey. I look forward to continuing my creative designs and more ways to make a positive contribution towards the community.
