KIST Explanation Day 2025

Director of Admissions and Personnel

Our annual Explanation Day for prospective parents considering enrolling their children at KIST in the upcoming 2026–27 school year was held on Saturday, October 18, 2025. As in previous years, the event was arranged in two sessions: English and Japanese, but this year, each session was further divided into separate Elementary and Secondary presentations.

The purpose of Explanation Day is to provide parents with an opportunity to visit our campus to view our facilities, listen to presentations from our staff, and ask questions about the admissions process. This year, a record number of almost 1,000 people attended throughout the day.

Also joining us on the day were ten students from the Secondary School who acted as student ambassadors. The students assisted with directing visitors around the school, aided communication between our teachers and visitors by providing translation support, and answered general questions from visitors about daily student life at KIST. We received many favorable comments about the students who were praised for the professional way they interacted with our visitors, their enthusiasm for KIST, and their overall knowledge of the school. Thank you to all ten students for being wonderful ambassadors this year.

Applications for admission to KIST from the start of 2026–27 are now open. Our updated Admissions Handbook and our online application portal can be accessed in the Admissions section of the school website under the Documentation menu tab. The deadline for applications is Friday, January 16, 2026. We strongly recommend that families of current KIST students who wish to apply for an additional sibling should do so by this date as classes will fill quickly. Questions regarding admissions matters should be directed to info@kist.ed.jp.
