School fees 2013 – 2014

The information on this page has been extracted from the KIST Admissions Handbook. Please read the complete handbook for more detailed information on school fees.

School fees

KIST aims to maintain a fee structure that allows students from various socio-economic backgrounds to enter the school so that an international education is not restricted only to those who are more fortunate; however, as the school is a not-for-profit educational institution that relies almost entirely on annual school fees to cover operating expenses, tuition and other fees are adjusted periodically (usually every three years). Before adjustments are made, notification will be given as far in advance as possible.

All fees on this page are indicated in Japanese yen.

Refund policy

The Application Fee and Enrollment Fee are non-refundable. Tuition and other general fees (i.e. Capital Fee, Building Maintenance Fee and PTA Fee) will be refunded if enrollment is cancelled prior to the first day of school. Fees will not be reduced or waived due to a student’s absence from school for personal or medical reasons, or in situations when the school is closed due to natural conditions (e.g. weather, earthquake). Fees for the school bus are refundable on request from the following month after the service is last used. Fees for the school lunch service are required on a triannual basis in advance and are non-refundable as produce is ordered in advance for the full lunch period. This includes situations when lunch is not eaten due to absence from school, excursions, camps, school closures and withdrawals before the end of the lunch period.

The cost of school uniforms and other personal materials purchased at school can be refunded only if the items are returned within a week of purchase and have not been worn or used. The wrapping bag must also be returned with the items in order to receive a full refund. Please note that we cannot accept returns or exchanges of the long and short sleeve button-down shirts if they have been opened. All other fees are non-refundable.

For situations where school fees are paid by an employer, refunds will be made to the employer only, not to the individual family.
