How to apply

  • There are two methods of application. You can apply online OR download the application form from the school website, fill it out and submit it in to the KIST office with other documents required. You can also send them by post.

  • Please submit one application form per student.
  • Applications will be closed when classes are full.
  • Opening date for applications:    Current/New KIST students    Friday, March 5. Non-KIST students Friday, March 12
  • Referral discount:    When non-KIST students are referred by a member of the current KIST community, both KIST and non-KIST students will receive a 5% discount.


Please note:

  • Please complete the application form in either English or Japanese.
  • Current and new KIST students may pay the program fee when submitting the application form in person or transfer it to the bank account below. For non-KIST students, as there is a possibility that some students may not be accepted due to judgments regarding their English level, we ask you to transfer the money within 3 days after receiving notification of successful enrollment. Please include the applicant’s name when transferring the program fee.

  • Non-KIST students are required to submit documents that prove their English ability. Please attach one of the following documents to the application form. You will receive notification of your result within 3 days after the submission of your application.
  • For students who currently attend other international schools/preschools - the most recent school report or teacher recommendation letter.
  • For students who currently attend Japanese schools or non-English schools - TOEIC/TOEFL score or a certificate of English proficiency from public institutions such as Test in Practical English Proficiency (Eiken).
  • For students of new K2s (4-year-olds) to new G5s who do not have the above documents, please contact the office.
  • As KIST summer program does not employ a learning needs specialist, we are unable to accept applications for students with special needs. Minimum behavior expectations must be met at all times. Enrolment may be cancelled if these aren’t met.


Cancellation of enrollment
If you would like to cancel your enrollment, the following cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund.
For summer programs starting in June and July:
                         Until May 31, 2010    10,000 yen
                         Until June 10, 2010    20,000 yen
Please note that refunds will not be provided for cancellations received on or after June 11.
 

For summer programs starting in August:
                          Until May 31, 2010    10,000 yen
                          Until July 10, 2010    20,000 yen
Please note that refunds will not be provided for cancellations received on or after July 11.

Furthermore, refunds for school bus and school lunch fees will not be given once the programs have commenced.

Further information for program participants
Students who are enrolled in the summer program will receive an information booklet in early June.
